Abandoned in the early 90s, this diesel locomotive repair shop is getting back on track and Neville Engineering Service, Inc. is pleased to assist. Owned by Norfolk Southern Railway, this 71,000 sq. ft., 60-foot high facility dates from around 1900 and features a 40-foot high crane capable of lifting locomotives. The challenges? An outdated steam heating system and maintaining the functionality of the crane bays while providing heat at floor level for the employees. The solution? A hot water heating system with unit heaters located between the building’s columns. Hot water piping mounted directly below the crane rails runs from a new, high efficiency boiler plant to four modular boilers. Read More →

Construction is continuing on the new 17 building Springs on 127th Apartment Complex in Plainfield, IL. Neville Engineering Service, Inc. was proud to work with Horizon Design Build Manage in Madison Wisconsin to provide electrical engineering services in the design of the apartment buildings, poolhouse, clubhouse, and site lighting. The facility in Plainfield will mark the 20th development for Springs Apartments. Currently located in nine states, Plainfield will be the first development in Illinois. The 3400 s.f. clubhouse consisting of exercise facilities and meeting space opened Summer of 2013. The completion of the entire project is scheduled to be complete in October of 2013. Read More →
